Our team of board-certified surgeons, each with specialized training, delivers exceptional care in sports medicine, arthroscopy, joint replacement, trauma, hand & upper extremity, foot & ankle, and spine surgery.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transcription/Editing Support Specialist to join our growing team!
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accurate and timely production of medical documentation. Your responsibilities will include transcribing dictated medical reports, editing and proofreading documents, and assisting with various quality improvement initiatives. Prior experience is preferred, but not required. We are committed to developing the skills of the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately transcribe dictated medical reports, including recommendation letters, narrative reports, IME reports, appeals letters, and letters of medical necessity
- Utilize medical terminology and maintain a high level of accuracy and clarity
- Edit and proofread medical documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical accuracy
- Ensure consistency and adherence to established medical and professional standards
- Participate in quality improvement (QI) and quality control (QC) projects, including data collection
- Identify and report any discrepancies or inconsistencies in documentation.
- Effectively communicate with physicians, team members, and other departments, both in person and via email.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships
- Perform scanning duties as requested
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
- Strong editing and proofreading skills with excellent grammar and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
