Description
High-risk obstetrical office is seeking an experienced, full-time, Medical Insurance Biller for a high paced office located in Knoxville, TN. Position responsible for billing associated with telehealth services provided at multiple locations.
Job Description/Duties:
This description is a general concept of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular basis by the billing team. Duties may change as assigned.
Verification of appropriate diagnosis codes with CPT’s- Verification of appropriate CPT’s and modifiers
- Claims submission
- Posting of claim payments
- Accounts Receivable follow up
- Outgoing calls to patients
- Obtaining prior authorizations
- Daily entering of patient charges
- Insurance verifications
- Assist with denials, medical record requests and other information as needed for claims
- Appointment scheduling
- Comfortable with paper charts
- Scanning of patient records
- Team player capable of effective communication with providers and other team members
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in adherence with HIPAA
- Must have a high level of professionalism, an attention to detail, and strong patient service skills
- Adherence to all policies and procedures including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance

Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year billing experience; experience in OB/GYN preferred
- Knowledge of medical coding and third-party operating procedures and policies
- High school diploma or completion of medical billing courses
- Comfortable and familiar with operation of computers and basic office equipment
Starting pay higher than national average for experienced medical biller. Benefits available.
