University Physicians' Association is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Electroencephalograh Technician (EEG Tech) for UT NEUROLOGY located in Knoxville, TN. The position offers a competitive benefit package.
Job duties include:
- Performs standard electroencephalographic and evoked potential examinations for patients as directed, according to established standards and practices.
- Abstracts relevant information from patient's clinical record and obtains additional information as needed.
- Completes patient history form by reviewing patient chart or consulting with patient, family or nursing staff.
- Applies suitable electrodes on the patient at appropriate locations and checks performance.
- Assures impedance of electrodes is within specified range.
- Calibrates and adjusts the EEG equipment in accordance with standard procedures.
- Reviews calibration page to determine all channels are symmetrical.
- Assures equipment is cleaned immediately after each test is completed.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year EEG experience and/or on the job training.
- Know and understand terminology used inneurodiagnostics.
- Registered Electroencephalographic Technician (ABRET) Certification
(Years of Experience can be related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.)
