High-Risk OB office is currently searching for a full-time, experienced Medical Records Clerk to join our team.
You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:
- Answering phones
- Collecting patient information
- Filing patient information into appropriate chart
- Collecting data
- Filing of medical charts
- Requesting medical records from referring offices
- Completion of medical record requests which includes copying and/or faxing
- Creating new patient charts and pulling charts for upcoming appointments
- Scheduling appointments
Medical Records Clerk Responsibilities:
- Filing of all patient information into appropriate medical record such as demographics, labs, reports, hospital records and notes from outside facilities.
- Preparation of new patient charts.
- Pulling of charts for upcoming appointments.
- Maintain quality and accurate records.
- Make sure all medical records are protected and kept confidential in compliance with HIPAA.
- Completion of medical records request within 48 hours.
- Purging old medical records.
- Completes clerical duties including answering phones, calling referring providers for records and responding to emails.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Physical requirements – sitting, standing, walking, lifting, filing
