University Physicians Association is seeking qualified applicants for a Registered Nurse position at UT Urogynecology, a practice located within the UT Medical Center. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to work under deadlines in a very fast-paced office. Applicants must be familiar with scheduling surgeries, giving instructions, writing orders, and making the patients their top priority. This position will work closely with physicians to provide a seamless patient experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide complete patient assessment, including vital signs and pre-examination procedures in clinic setting. Gathers and assesses objective and subjective data from the patient.
- Perform appropriate in-office procedures and assist the physicians in all aspects of the consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care.
- Perform telephone triage for providers, using critical thinking skills to make decisions, communicating all pertinent information and interventions to the provider.
- Documents data and assessments in the patient electronic record
- Medication reconciliation, management, patient compliance, inventory, education.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, sound judgments based on the presenting data, and a timely response based on the expected patient outcome and standards of care as well as unit/organizational policies.
- Surgery knowledge including scheduling, communicating surgery instructions and treatment plans to patients. The position will include triage nurse calls for urgent medical issues.
- Maintain current CPR for Health Care Providers.
- Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance
- Other duties as requested by Office Supervisor
Requirements
- RN License required
- Prior medical experience required
