We're hiring a Community Development Officer to join our Consumer Banking Team.
Responsibilities
Partners with CRA Officer to identify specific areas of need and execution of plan with various business lines within said areas to ensure Bank achieves CRA goals.
Conduct proactive outreach to target underserved markets and communities to cultivate new lending opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, non-profits, and local businesses to understand community needs and opportunities.
Represent the Bank at community events, meetings, and forums to promote the Bank’s community development efforts which can include occasional nights or weekends.
Design and implement community development programs that align with the bank’s goals and community needs, including financial literacy workshops, small business support, and affordable housing initiatives.
Collaborate with internal departments, such as CRA and fair lending, and others, to promote community development initiatives and integrate them into the bank’s overall strategy.
Prepare and present reports to management and appropriate bank committees on community development activities.
Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to this position including the Univest Code of Conduct
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or equivalent training/experience
Working knowledge of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)
Ability to work effectively with community-based organizations, banks, CPAs, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and public sector administrators.
Public speaking skills to present information to small and large groups.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Wage Range
Salesforce CRM and nCino experience preferred.
The salary for this position ranges from $##.00 to $##.00

- Oversees education of Consumer team, namely Financial Center Managers and Business Development officers, on identification of CRA opportunities and cultivates referrals in support of CRA efforts.
- Partners with consumer lending teams to develop and implement consumer oriented CRA initiatives.
- Partners with Commercial Relationship Managers for cultivating CRA opportunities with organizations with Commercial profile (i.e. larger credit exposures).
- Lead in handling/processing CRA opportunities within the Small Business segment.

- Understanding why the CRA was enacted and its goals of encouraging financial institutions to meet the credit needs of all segments of their communities, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods and small businesses.
- Familiarity with the specific rules and guidelines that govern how financial institutions are evaluated under the CRA.
- Understanding how assessment areas are defined and how to identify the credit needs of LMI communities and small businesses within those areas.
Ability to work effectively with community-based organizations, banks, CPAs, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and public sector administrators.
