What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lighting Assistant position at Univision communications inc?
Production Operations at Televisa Univision is looking for a Lighting Assistant to join our team!
Responsibilities include lighting board playback, assisting the Lighting Director and Lighting Programmer with their needs such as hanging, focusing, and addressing fixtures and working closely with the production staff. The Lighting Assistant will report to the Lighting Director.
YOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)
- Hang, power and focus light fixtures
- Raising faders on lighting boards for shows
- Position floor lights
- Troubleshoot problems such as loss of power or data
YOU HAVE: (aka Qualifications)
- Associates Degree in Television Production or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of computers and Windows operating systems
- Basic knowledge of lighting equipment such as lighting consoles and lighting fixtures including conventional, LED and intelligent lighting
- Familiarity with proper safety procedures such as use of harnesses and other personal protective equipment; correct use of lifts and lifting techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of computerized lighting consoles specifically ETC Ion and GrandMA 2
- Ability to climb a ladder
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform work at heights above 30’
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
- 1-2 years of experience with live studio broadcast
- Comfortable with all aspects of the production
- Perform well under pressure and breaking news situations
- Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
- As this position supports a 24x7 operation, candidate must, in addition to being able to work regular hours, have on-call availability, and flexibility to work days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed and without advance notice. Additionally, candidate may be required to work on site for extended periods of time to provide coverage in special circumstances, such as, during tropical storm/hurricane
