What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director, News Production position at Univision?
TelevisaUnivision is seeking a Senior Director of News Production, in the Network News team. This person will oversee the various aspects of news operation, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of news and managing various news production teams, writers, as well as contingent workers. The ideal candidate will be able to meet deadlines, make split-second decisions on content, and create cooperative partnerships across the organization that support audience growth and brand consistency.
Your Day-to-Day
- Manage and oversee all aspects of production for network news shows and streaming platforms.
- Ensure seamless execution of production responsibilities, maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the network and producers for day-to-day production planning and logistics.
- Collaborate closely with executive producers on creative processes, including developing new looks, graphics, and other visual elements for shows under the news umbrella.
- Facilitate approvals, materials, and information exchange across departments (Art, Programming, Broadcast Operations, Production Legal, Marketing, Scheduling, Public Relations, Finance, etc.), ensuring alignment with producers and supervisors.
- Oversee control room production for breaking news and special coverages in partnership with News Operations.
- Lead the coordination and execution of live event grids for news programming.
- Supervise executive producers for both linear and digital shows, providing guidance and ensuring operational excellence.
- Participate in strategy meetings to develop actionable production plans and ensure their successful execution.
