Description
Loyalty MGA is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Underwriter to join our underwriting team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their underwriting skills while supporting the team in evaluating risks and assisting with the underwriting process. Candidates must have experience with auto and home insurance underwriting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior underwriters in assessing and evaluating insurance applications and risks.
- Review and analyze policy applications, client data, and claims histories.
- Prepare quotes, endorsements, and binders for insurance policies.
- Assist in gathering and verifying information to ensure policies are written in accordance with company guidelines.
- Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients to gather additional information or clarify details.
- Ensure timely processing of applications and renewals, meeting department deadlines.
- Support in maintaining accurate records and documentation for underwriting files.
- Assist with identifying and addressing potential risks and recommending adjustments to policy terms.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and underwriting standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of underwriting principles and the insurance industry.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow in the underwriting field.
