General Summary of Job
The General Manager (“GM”) is responsible for overseeing all operations at the assigned Unleashed facility. The primary responsibilities of the GM are to ensure employee development and staffing, ensure exceptional dog care, oversee and provide an excellent customer experience, oversee facility maintenance, and any other needs that may arise at the facility. The General Manager reports directly to ownership.
Primary Duties
Ensure Employee Development and Staffing:
Hiring
- GM regularly reviews resumes, schedules and conducts interviews, and hires staff based on the needs of the facility.
- GM regularly reviews, documents, and updates the hiring process.
Training
- GM is responsible for implementing our training program for each new hire.
- The GM regularly reviews and updates the training program and processes based on new developments and records them accordingly.
- GM continually works to develop and define the roles of each position.
- GM is responsible for training Managers directly.
- GM works closely with managers and shift leads to ensure proper procedures are taught to new employees.
- GM knows all roles and responsibilities and can fill in at any level even though it is not their responsibility to do so.
Staffing
- GM is responsible for creating and distributing the weekly staffing schedule.
- As staffing issues arise (i.g. Illness, no-shows, etc.) the GM works with management to fill those gaps based on the needs of the shift.
Exceptional Dog Care
- The GM works with Managers to ensure exceptional care is provided to each dog in our care.
- GM regularly reviews staff training to ensure the highest quality of care.
Customer Care
- GM is responsible for any issues that cannot be resolved by Managers.
- GM gathers information from both staff and customers and works with customers regarding their concerns.
Facility Management
- In connection with the facility maintenance staff, the GM ensures that the facility is well maintained and cared for and that all cleaning checklists are regularly and consistently performed.
- GM is responsible for balancing and budgeting repairs, maintenance, and other purchases associated with the care of the facility.
- GM is responsible for all inventory.
Everything Else
- The GM is responsible for anything related to the operation of the business that may flow up to ownership. It is their responsibility to ensure all is taken care of so that nothing may inhibit ownership from focusing on ownership responsibilities.
- The GM works to improve the business in every capacity, focusing on areas ownership sees most fitting and management see most important.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
