Unleashing Potential is looking for passionate and dependable Program Assistants for our before and after school program in the School District of University City, the Ferguson/Florissant School District, and at Atlas Elementary. Unleashing Potential partners with local elementary schools to provide educational, curriculum-based programing before and after school. Program Assistants are responsible for implementing lesson plans and activities with students, facilitating field trips, and more. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who loves working with children and is interested in part-time employment.

Please note: Before School hours are approximately 6:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and After School hours are approximately 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 pm. Exact work schedules are dependent on the school district.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Implements after school program under the supervision of the Site Coordinator/Manager. Give input into the creation of youth programming through daily direct interaction in classroom with children.
- Implements a variety of program components, including evidenced based curricula containing character education, STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts and Math), life skills, academic and nutrition and physical fitness activities for school aged children.
- Facilitates field trips and special events for children
- Assists in the development and implements lesson plans and prepares for daily activities.
- Facilitates regular group activities, (including educational, recreation, character building) and serves as a primary contact for students
- May provide individual tutoring with children
- Responsible for various weekly programmatic reports
- Distributes snacks and meals to children
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment/Conditions:
- The ability to lift 25 pounds
- Frequent interruptions
- Performs functions in a high energy environment with children and youth
- Sitting, standing, eye strain, and walking
- Moderate to high noise levels
