A mow crew foreman is responsible for leading a team of groundskeepers, primarily focused on lawn mowing and general grounds maintenance. They supervise, train, and motivate their crew, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards. The foreman also manages the day-to-day operations, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and potentially assisting with other landscape-related tasks. Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Supervision and Leadership:
• Directly supervise and lead a team of groundskeepers, assigning tasks and providing guidance.
• Train new crew members on proper mowing techniques, safety procedures, and the operation of equipment.
• Motivate and support the crew to maintain high standards of performance.
• Address any performance issues or concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
• Operational Management:
• Plan and organize daily work schedules, ensuring efficient coverage of mowing areas.
• Manage the allocation of equipment and resources to different tasks.
• Maintain and repair mowing equipment and other tools used by the crew.
• Manage budgets and track expenses related to the mowing crew.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect the quality of mowing work, ensuring it meets standards.
• Address any quality issues or discrepancies with the crew.
• Report any necessary repairs or replacements of equipment or materials.
• Safety:
• Ensure all crew members follow safety procedures and regulations.
• Conduct regular safety checks of equipment and work areas.
• Report any safety hazards or concerns to appropriate supervisors.
• Other Landscape-Related Tasks:
• Assist with other grounds maintenance duties, such as trimming hedges, planting flowers, or applying herbicides.
• Participate in landscaping projects, such as installing new lawns or gardens.

Additional Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of different types of mowing equipment and their proper operation.
• Understanding of plant health and lawn care principles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to handle the demands of grounds maintenance work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
