Description
This is a full-time on-site role for Carrier Representative at Unlimited Logistics, LLC. This role involves negotiating contracts and making deals with motor truck carriers in addition to handling administrative tasks throughout the transaction. The Carrier Rep will be responsible for sourcing and procuring carrier services, ensuring the availability of capacity, negotiating competitive rates, and monitoring the successful execution of shipments. This candidate will be self-motivated and excel at problem solving, communication and teamwork in a high energy/competitive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop carrier relationships to effectively support customer freight needs
- Utilize internal/external resources to make informed buying decisions
- Use negotiation skills to help minimize transportation spend
- Continually source new carrier partners and existing underutilized partners
- Communicate daily with carriers to determine capacity availability and negotiate transportation rates
- Find solutions to issues that arise before, during and after shipments utilizing strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
- Obtain new carriers and close shipping deals
- Any additional tasks assigned by manager or supervisor
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
1 - 2 years supply chain/logistics/transport industry related experience preferred
Persuading, motivating, negotiating, and general sales skills & knowledge
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Focused and goal-oriented
Organized and structured
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
