Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Technology to lead the development and execution of our technology strategy. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of technology systems that drive our freight brokerage operations, ensuring we remain at the forefront of innovation and efficiency in the logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a technology roadmap aligned with company goals.
- Evaluate and recommend technology investments to improve operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Technology Development & Management:
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of proprietary and third-party logistics systems.
- Ensure the seamless integration of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, and other tools.
- Lead efforts to enhance digital freight matching and automation capabilities.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Mentor and develop team members to ensure they stay current with industry trends.
- Data & Analytics:
- Implement robust data analytics solutions to provide actionable insights for operations and strategy.
- Monitor KPIs and leverage data to optimize carrier and customer performance.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance:
- Ensure all technology systems are secure and compliant with industry regulations and standards.
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with operations, sales, and customer service teams to identify and address technology needs.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience (7 years) in technology leadership roles, ideally within freight brokerage, logistics, or supply chain industries.
- Deep understanding of freight brokerage operations, including TMS, carrier sourcing, and freight matching technologies.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in cloud computing, APIs, and data integration is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
