Job Overview
The Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Tech is responsible for supporting the lead up to, and the delivery of the unit to the customer.
Key duties
Works closely with the Service Manager on preparing for final delivery
Demonstrates key unit features and functionality to new owner to demonstrate how to use the unit’s components and accessories
Inspects vehicle thoroughly to ascertain whether additional repairs is needed and/or safety
items required
Goes through the inspection checklist prior to customer delivery date
Reports any issues to the Service Manager to ensure all items are in perfect working order
Performs Quality Control Checks (full prep and systems check for correct information, features, and functionality on delivery units so that the final product meets the quality standards)
Tests Appliances and Systems and minor conduct repairs
Performs minor repairs and assist with other repairs to prepare unit for delivery
Schedules for the cleaning of the interior and exterior of RVs
Applies decals
Performs walk-thru instruction class with customers instructing on how to use and maintain their new RV
Ensures optional equipment specified by customer is in place
Performs Winterizing and De-winterizing (backup for service tech)
Assists in maintaining shop cleanliness
Ensures all paperwork has been completed
Follows strict guidelines and complete all paperwork required for work orders and part orders
Performs all work with efficiency and accuracy and in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Documents workflow including diagnoses, cause, and correction in sufficient detail
Communicates with the parts department to secure necessary parts
Maintains neat and orderly work area and customer RV cleanliness
Upholds federal, state and local regulations governing the disposal of hazardous waste
Performs job duties and functions with flexibility in the event circumstances shift, (i.e.,
emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs or technology developments).
Is accountable for all dealership owned tools. Need basic hand tools.
Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.

Ability to read and comprehend complex repair instructions and wiring schematics and
familiarity with industrial tools and equipment

Ability to closely pay attention to detail and ensure that records and reports are accurate
Ability to learn/use software programs and equipment used by dealership
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Qualifications
High school degree or equivalent, general math skills, RVIA Certified a Plus, Valid driver license with good driving record required
Experience
No experience necessary. Ideal candidate will be familiar with RV related maintenence.

Lift/Carry 51-100 lbs
Must be able to work under a unit and on top of unit to complete repairs
Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work from elevated heights
Ability to crawl, stop, bend and work in confined spaces
Ability to stand for entirety of the workday
Ability to learn/use software programs and equipment used by dealership
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in service bay, recreational vehicles/trailers, and outdoor settings, in all weather conditions, including temperature extremes. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
