Position Summary:
Responsible for the delivery of customer service within assigned food service unit. Operate cash register. Manage cash drawer, balance cash drawer, prepare cash register reconciliation reports. Make cash deposits. Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions within assigned area. Restock and maintain food service lineas needed. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
* SALES - Oversee, coordinate, and perform computerized cash register sales transactions and cash management; resolve discrepancies; authorize customer returns, exchanges, merchandise credit; assure the completion of all POS transactions and the proper control of cash and media at the POS registers according to department policy
* SALES - Prepare, reconcile, and record cash receipts for deposit and prepare sales reports
* SALES - Receive a variety of payments and other cash and cash-related transactions; verify and post to appropriate accounts
* SALES - Project currency and coin requirements and reorders as necessary
* CUSTOMER SERVICE - Provide sales coordination and problem resolution for floor customer service staff; perform direct sales and customer service as and when required
* CUSTOMER SERVICE - Provide information to visitors, employees and medical staff regarding pertinent rules, policies and procedures related to cash and cash-related transactions
* FOOD SERVICE - Serve food in cafeteria, stock and clean, to include wiping down of all table surfaces and chairs in cafeteria and meeting rooms; clean microwaves and vending areas daily
* FOOD SERVICE - Serve on patient tray line as needed
* PATIENT INFORMATION - Maintain confidentiality of University Hospital patients, employees and staff
* CLEAN - Clean and maintain a sanitary work area; ensure compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory agencies
* OTHER - Perform other duties as assigned
