UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Family Community Medicine - Maternal Child Health Staff Physician to join our School of Medicine team at UNM. This opportunity is a Part-Time (0.5FTE) opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Summary
Under indirect supervision, provides and manages direct health care for a specified patient population.
The mission of the Department of Family and Community Medicine (FCM) is to improve the health and healthcare of the people of New Mexico and their communities through education, research, patient care, service, population health interventions and health policy development.
Minimum Job Requirements of a Family Medicine - Maternal Child Health Physician:
Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. State of New Mexico and Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board Certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.
Completed residency in family medicine
Familiar with the UNM Family Medicine Residency Program
Familiar with Cerner Power Chart system
Duties and Responsibilities of a Family Medicine - Maternal Child Health Physician:
- Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
- Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
- Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
