Decision Scientist (The Strategic Data Advisor)

As a Decision Scientist at our client, you'll collaborate with product, finance, and operations teams to turn complex data into clear strategies. Your expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data storytelling will be essential for crafting insights that shape strategic directions, optimize performance, and drive impactful results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop Analytical Models for Decision-Making:
• Create statistical and machine learning models to analyze business performance, predict trends, and optimize processes. You'll develop tools that inform strategic choices and drive business outcomes
• Translate Data into Actionable Insights:
• Conduct in-depth analyses to identify key trends, opportunities, and challenges. You'll interpret data to provide recommendations that support business growth, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency
• Collaborate on Strategic Planning and Optimization:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align insights with business goals. You'll advise on strategic initiatives, resource allocation, and process improvements that align with data findings
• Design and Implement Experiments:
• Lead A/B testing and experiments to measure the impact of different strategies. You'll interpret results and provide recommendations based on empirical evidence to refine business approaches
• Create and Present Data Visualizations and Reports:
• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reports that effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. You'll ensure insights are accessible, meaningful, and aligned with business needs
• Optimize Decision-Making Frameworks:
• Establish frameworks and best practices for data-driven decision-making across the organization. You'll build and refine decision science processes that enable efficient and consistent insights
• Stay Updated on Analytical Tools and Techniques:
• Keep current with advancements in data science, machine learning, and analytics. You'll integrate new methodologies that improve model accuracy, efficiency, and business relevance
  
  
  

Requirements

Required Skills:

• Statistical and Analytical Expertise: Strong background in statistical analysis, machine learning, and decision science techniques, including regression analysis, clustering, and predictive modeling
• Data Analysis and Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data analysis and model development. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is beneficial
• Experimental Design and A/B Testing: Experience in designing and interpreting experiments, including A/B tests, to evaluate the effectiveness of business strategies
• Business Acumen: Ability to translate complex data into business insights, with an understanding of key performance indicators and business metrics that impact organizational success
• Communication and Data Storytelling: Excellent communication skills to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. You're able to convey data-driven recommendations in a compelling way
  
  
  

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field. Equivalent experience in decision science or business analytics may be considered

• 3 years of experience in decision science, data analysis, or business analytics, with a demonstrated impact on strategic decision-making
• Experience working with business functions such as finance, operations, or product management
