Overview
We are seeking a forward-thinking and results-driven Director of IT Business Systems to lead and transform the IT landscape of our sports apparel design and manufacturing operations. This key leadership role requires expertise in digital technology capabilities and enterprise business systems. Specific depth in B2B and B2C digital transformation and private equity mergers and acquisitions (M&A) is a plus. The Director will play a pivotal role in evolving our technology strategy to enable streamlined operations, support growth, and adapt to changing market needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Change and Adoption Leadership: Identify, communicate, plan, and lead team members and business partners through change and adoption associated with changes to business systems and technology initiatives.
- Strategic Leadership & Vision: In partnership with the Chief Information Officer and key business partners - lead, mentor, and develop the IT Business Systems team, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and driving a culture of continuous improvement and digital innovation.
- Digital Transformation Initiatives: Play a key role in digital transformation efforts by evaluating emerging technologies, developing system architectures, and enhancing business operations through digital tools and automation across the sports apparel manufacturing lifecycle.
- Enterprise Business Systems Management: Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of business systems, ensuring that these platforms are fully aligned with the organization’s operational service levels and financial goals.
- M&A Integration: Lead the IT business systems integration during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless transitions, data migration, and compatibility before and after transitions.
- Project Management & Execution: Partner with the Project Management Office (PMO) to drive high-priority IT projects, including key system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and consultants, ensuring the timely delivery of projects and system performance that meets business needs.
- Financial & Contract Management: Embrace and demonstrate meticulous management of technology spend and contractual relationships with technology partners.
- Data & Process Optimization: Evaluate and propose opportunities to optimize the reliability and movement of data across the business processes and various departments (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain, sales) using technology as an enabler to drive market reach, customer acquisition and retention, operational efficiency, cost reduction, and scalability.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure technology systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and security protocols, particularly in areas related to manufacturing, supply chain management, and customer data.
- Governance: Drive regular meetings with leadership team and business partners, offering insights on IT performance, system health, key projects, and recommendations for continued technological advancement.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in business systems and/or applications management. Experience with digitization of a B2B or B2C industry business is a plus
- Experience managing outsourced teams (application managed services, help desk and MSPs, security operations centers). Experience managing off-shore partners (technology and business process outsourcing (BPO) is a plus)
- Proven experience in leading private equity mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including IT system integrations, data migration, and post-acquisition system harmonization. Experience in a leadership position
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a track record of managing cross-functional teams.
- Entrepreneurial mind-set and a get things done approach.
- Deep understanding of industry 4.0 and 5.0 manufacturing and supply chain processes and how IT solutions can drive evolution and operational improvements in a sports apparel setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interface with senior executives and operational teams effectively.
- Data-driven mindset, with the ability to leverage analytics to make strategic decisions and improve business systems.
- Experience with Software-as-a-Service and cloud-based solutions and system migrations is an advantage.
