What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Assistant position at Unverferth Mfg US?
Principal Functions of the Position:
Preparing land for planting, caring for the crops, and harvesting. This position is a full-time position, assisting with Unverferth Farm Operations. The main duties will be involved during the planting and harvest season.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repair of equipment, vehicles, and facilities and perform livestock and crop production activities.
- Participate in the planning, preparation, and execution of activities as directed.
- Assists with research and educational activities by following verbal and written protocols and communicating effectively.
- Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Physical Demands, Skills, & Work Experience:
- Must be able to successfully complete all applicable OSHA and/or company training courses.
- Planter operation and setup experience
- Combine operation and maintenance experience
- Grain Cart operation experience
- Grain Bin and Dryer maintenance experience
- Must possess a positive driving record
- Must obtain above average attendance record
- Must be within good standing of employment
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Able to climb in/out of tractors and combines
- Sit for long periods
- Ability to work well with other departments (Product Support, Engineering, testing, etc…)
- Ability to adjust hours and work parts of all shift times especially during planting and harvest season.
