We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Communications Manager to oversee and manage our communications and messaging strategy as well as our relationships with external public relations (PR) partners. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our external PR partners align with our company's communications objectives, enhance brand visibility, and amplify our messaging across media channels. You will act as a key liaison between our in-house team and external PR agencies, guiding and evaluating their efforts to ensure successful media campaigns, press relations, and brand positioning.
Key Responsibilities :
- External PR Partner Management :
Serve as the primary point of contact between Unwell and external PR agencies and partner's agencies, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
Develop and nurture relationships with PR partners to ensure alignment with business goals and brand values.Manage and oversee the performance of PR agencies, setting clear expectations, timelines, and KPIs for campaigns and initiatives.Ensure external partners understand and reflect the company's voice, tone, and messaging across all media and communications platforms.Strategic Planning & Campaign Oversight :Collaborate with PR agencies to develop and execute integrated media strategies that align with overall business objectives and marketing goals.
Provide strategic direction on messaging, media outreach, influencer partnerships, press releases, and other public relations efforts.Evaluate the effectiveness of PR campaigns and adjust strategies based on performance metrics, feedback, and evolving business needs.Media Relations :Work with PR partners to secure media placements, both proactive and reactive, ensuring strong relationships with key journalists, editors, and media outlets.
Review and approve press materials such as press releases, media kits, and pitch decks.Oversee crisis communication efforts, ensuring that external PR partners are prepared to manage any potential reputational issues or media inquiries.Brand Management & Messaging :Ensure that all external communications reflect the company's brand identity and messaging strategy.
Review and approve media content produced by external PR partners to ensure consistency and accuracy.Provide feedback to PR agencies on content quality, messaging clarity, and brand positioning.Reporting & Analytics :Track the performance of PR campaigns through analytics tools, media coverage tracking, and audience engagement metrics.
Prepare regular reports for senior leadership, summarizing the impact and effectiveness of PR initiatives.Provide recommendations for optimizing PR strategies based on results and market trends.Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.Experience :Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in public relations, communications, or related fields, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role overseeing external PR agencies or partners.
Proven track record of managing successful media campaigns and relationships with PR agencies.Strong understanding of PR metrics and ability to assess the success of media strategies.Skills :Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and deliver clear instructions to external partners.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple PR campaigns simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.Ability to analyze data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and present findings to stakeholders.Solid understanding of media relations, crisis communications, and influencer marketing.Proficient in PR software and media tracking tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, or similar platforms).Personal Attributes :
