We lead the medical field in hand care, having completed the first successful hand transplants, toe to hand transfers, total distal radial joint replacement, and more.
Hours: Monday – Friday, no weekends or holidays!
This position will function in a fast paced medical setting, specializing in one or more areas of medical care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and excellent communication skills to foster and contribute to a collegial environment, with the primary focus of providing outstanding care to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate an exceptional patient care experience by ensuring and assisting patient flow within the office, attending to needs of patients, their families and medical staff
- Prepare patient for physician visit:
- Obtain and document appropriate vital signs and health history information in Electronic Health Record (Allscripts).
- Assist patients with any paperwork necessary for the visit.
- Clinical duties:
- Check vital signs,
- Give injections (including immunizations),
- Medication administration, breathing treatments, Pulmonary Function Testing, dressings, vision/hearing testing, suture removal, patient education and assisting physician with procedures.
- Distribute/educate regarding home spacers and nebulizers.
- Assist with follow up calls to families regarding visits/procedures.
- Laboratory testing:
- Specimen collection (including finger sticks/venipuncture),
- Performing laboratory tests
- Documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting.
- Patient triage:
- Telephone and walk-in triage,
- Patient documentation and follow up.
- Documentation:
- Check and maintain Crash Cart chart
- Check and maintain Automated External Defibrillator on a rotational basis.
- Assist with preparing clinical schedule.
- Provide excellent, clear documentation in every area of the office. All documentation is done in the Electronic Health Record, either by entry or by scanning documents.
- Work closely with physicians to ensure patient and family needs are met in an expeditious manner.
- Assist in other areas of office as required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Current RN license in the State of Kentucky
- BLS certification is required
