Fine Wine Associate Role Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Fine Wine Associate. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent client service skills. They will be responsible for receiving and accurately inventorying inbound deliveries, conducting pickups and making deliveries within prescribed deadlines, maintaining accurate inventories of client wines, and representing the UOVO Wine brand.
Responsibilities
- Manage and Reconcile Client Inventories: Accurately manage and reconcile client inventories within the agreed-upon timeframe.
- Offsite Pickups and Deliveries: Assist with offsite pickups, deliveries, and installations.
- Daily Inventory Inbounds: Timely inventory inbounds accurately into the correct database on a daily basis.
- Shipping Case Preparation: Put together shipping cases as needed.
- Pallet Management: Move, organize, build, and break down shipping pallets as needed.
- Inventory Consolidation: Consolidate inventories as needed.
- Client Wine Inventory: Inventory client's wines as requested or required.
- Visitor Greeting and Delivery Receipt: Greet visitors and accept warehouse deliveries from UPS/FedEx and common carriers.
- Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Outgoing Box/Pallet Preparation: Prepare, label, and organize outgoing boxes/pallets with shipping labels.
- Shipment Tracking and Management: Track, manage, and prepare inbound/outbound shipments when needed.
- Delivery Van/Box Truck Operation: Drive delivery van or box truck for offsite pickups and deliveries, as needed, including loading and unloading with precision and care.
- Inventory Audits: Conduct inventory audits to resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Pick and Pull Requests: Conduct pick and pull requests and prepare wines/cases for pickup or shipping as needed.
- Offsite Activities: Perform offsite activities in client cellars, outside locations, and other storage facilities.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse organized and cleaned on a daily basis.
- Security Protocols: Ensure the security of the property before departure on a daily basis.
- Team Collaboration: Function and participate as a Team member in meetings and special projects.
Physical Requirements
- Work Environment: Working in a 55-degree F warehouse; exposure to extreme heat and cold when making deliveries throughout the year.
- Mobility and Lifting: Sitting, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, and climbing stairs/ladders throughout the shift. Requires finger and wrist manipulation and/or grasping more than 50% of the time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Ability to lift 40lb boxes repeatedly.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
- Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Be able to pass the Federal DOT physical and obtain a Federal DOT driver's license (if applicable). 1 - 3 years warehouse experience.
- Preferred: 2 years of Wine Industry experience preferred. Forklift certification preferred (but will be provided if necessary).
