Position Overview
UP Excellence Academy is seeking a passionate and results-driven Bilingual Teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate is an instructional leader who believes every minute matters and is committed to providing high-quality, differentiated instruction to support both English and Spanish language learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Rigorous, Standards-Aligned Instruction: Plan and execute engaging, data-driven lessons that meet the needs of bilingual students, using the UP Excellence Instructional Model (I Do, We Do, You Do Together, You Do Alone, Exit Ticket).
- Foster Academic Growth: Ensure students master grade-level content while developing English proficiency through structured literacy and language development strategies.
- Create a Culture of Excellence: Set high expectations for all students, maintain strong classroom management, and create a structured, joyful learning environment.
- Maximize Instructional Time: Implement bell-to-bell instruction, incorporating checks for understanding, discourse, and experiential learning.
- Monitor & Drive Student Achievement: Use assessments and student data to inform instruction and provide targeted support through small group interventions and high-impact tutoring.
- Collaborate & Grow: Engage in weekly PLCs, coaching cycles, and professional development to continuously refine instructional practices.
- Partner with Families: Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication, conferences, and progress updates.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Texas Teaching Certification with Bilingual (EC-6) or ESL Supplemental endorsement
- Fluency in English & Spanish (reading, writing, speaking)
- Experience working with emergent bilinguals and students in high-need communities
- Proven track record of student achievement and growth
- Strong knowledge of TEKS, best practices for bilingual education, and language acquisition strategies
