Position Summary:
UP Excellence Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to join our vibrant and innovative school community. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that encourages young scholars to explore, grow, and develop essential skills. The Pre-Kindergarten Teacher will plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons, support social and emotional growth, and work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to ensure the success of every student.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Planning and Delivery:
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with state standards and school curriculum.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Integrate play-based and hands-on learning experiences to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Assess and monitor student progress through observations, formative assessments, and standardized tests.
Classroom Management:
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior and routines.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to support student engagement and minimize disruptions.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, instructional aides, and support staff to enhance the educational experience for students.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and professional development opportunities.
Student Support and Differentiation:
- Identify and address the individual needs of students, providing additional support and differentiation as necessary.
- Support the social and emotional development of students through positive interactions, conflict resolution, and guidance.
- Foster a love of learning and curiosity in students, encouraging them to explore and discover.
Program Development and School Community:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Pre-Kindergarten program through active participation in team meetings, curriculum development, and professional learning communities (PLCs).
- Promote a positive school culture by actively participating in school-wide activities, events, and initiatives.
- Uphold the mission and values of UP Excellence Academy, demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to excellence.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas teaching certification in Early Childhood Education.
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting, preferably in a Pre-Kindergarten program.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Passion for working with young children and fostering their growth and development.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
