What are the responsibilities and job description for the MTQIP Clinical Reviewer (MCR), Trauma Center, Full Time, Days position at UP Health System - Marquette?
Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting clinical data elements for Michigan Trauma Quality Improvement Program and work collaboratively with the trauma program registry staff, clinical staff, and the trauma program manager to collect and submit reliable data to MTQIP and trauma registry in a timely manner.
Retrieving daily trauma log from emergency department EMR, informing appropriate parties of trauma activations, and maintaining registry list based on trauma log
Interact with the clinical team through rounding, direct face-to-face contact, telephone/media, and trauma program meetings
Abstracting required data elements from trauma registry eligible patients in accordance with MTQIP and TQIP guidelines
Data entry into trauma registry and appropriate database repositories
Actively participate and assist the Trauma Program Manager and Director to develop and implement standard practices, policies, and procedures that support effective and efficient capture of data that are valid and reliable
Identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects as requested by the MTQIP Coordinating Center
Attending consortium-wide meetings and data abstractor meetings as a representative of the institution, acting as a resource regarding the consortium within the institution
Preparing for and being available for site audits by the MTQIP Coordinating Center and American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, resolving data discrepancies, and responding to the MTQIP Coordinating Center requests in a timely fashion

5 Years Clinical experience as Registered Nurse (BSN preferred) or equivalent (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant)
1 Year Trauma Experience
1 Year Experience with data abstraction from medical records, and or analyzing and interpreting processes of care, and clinical outcomes (Preferred)
1 Year Excellent written and verbal communication as well as working knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and trauma registry applications (Preferred)
5 Years Clinical experience as Registered Nurse (BSN preferred) or equivalent (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant)
