What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computed Tomography/Radiologic Technologist position at UP Health System - Portage?

As part of our Radiology team, you will perform diagnostic testing, including computed tomography imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice with the manager, medical director and staff consistent with the mission of UP Health System - Portage. In this role, you will process digital images, assist radiologist with invasive procedures, prepares medication and contrast materials, prepares rooms, equipment, supplies and documents examinations in EMR and PACS.
You will be asked to provide outstanding customer service to your patients throughout the day, with each individual requiring different needs or services. In this position, you will have a significant impact on the quality care that patients receive at UP Health System - Portage.
Required Skills:
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external
• Training and experience in other imaging modalities desirable or must be willing to cross train to other modalities.
Position Requirements:
Graduate of AMA Approved School Required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Registered or Registry Eligibility Fulfilled including CEU’s Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required (Available Upon Hire)
Annual Influenza Vaccination or Declination Required
