Upchurch Elementary is thrilled to announce the launch of a new STEM Program in August 2025, providing students with hands-on, engaging lessons focused on real-world applications, creativity, innovation, leadership, and communication.
As part of this exciting initiative, we are seeking a passionate and innovative Part-Time STEM Coordinator (.5 FTE) to join our team. This 20-hour-per-week position will support our STEM-focused learning model by collaborating with teachers to deliver interactive, real-world STEM projects that spark student innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to design and implement interdisciplinary STEM lessons.
- Facilitate hands-on, project-based learning in science, technology, engineering, and math.
- Integrate technology and engineering concepts into instruction.
- Provide staff with professional development in effective STEM teaching practices.
- Organize and support STEM events, clubs, and extracurricular programs.
All certificated jobs will be posted for at least one week. Depending on the size of the applicant pool, postings may be extended beyond a week. Building principals may start scheduling interviews before the posting end date, but no jobs will be offered until a job has been posted for one week.
