Assistant Project Manager Construction

Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team! The Assistant Project Manager will assist in the oversight and management of all project details of assigned projects to include staffing, materials, scheduling, billing and related areas. Must work on multiple projects & assignments simultaneously

Safety:

• Ensure all employees and subcontractors comply with required safety standards
  
  

Project Scope:

• Review contract scope of work.
• Review project specifications and drawings.
• Review scope of work for code compliance
• Identify any potential issues that may increase risk for our organization
• Develop and review job checklist
• Identify equipment, supplies and materials required for project
• Determine correct quantities of materials and supplies
• Submit equipment and material list to vendors for quote
• Research details of equipment, materials, subcontracts and other project-specific financial needs
  
  

Financial/Reporting/ Billing:

• Manage and monitor project budgets, costs and expenditures
• Review project estimates for validity and correctness
• Initiate monthly project billing
• Attend internal job review meetings and provide information as required
• Input, update & maintain records, logs & related documents
  
  

Labor/Subcontractor Management:

• Manage Project labor efficiently
• Coordinate and schedule project labor
• Coordinate installation schedule with customer
• Conduct site visits on a regular basis and/or as required
  
  

Estimating:

• Perform monthly project re-estimates
• Assist sales representatives with estimating and project negotiations and other areas as required
• Participate in the sales to operations turnover process

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient project management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.
• Lean Six Sigma a plus.
• Spanish language skills a big Plus.
  
  

Education and Experience:

• At least one year of related experience required.
• Degree in Construction or Engineering preferred.
• Mechanical experience preferred.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Able to travel as needed.
