Core Function | This role ensures that the molds remain in optimal working condition by conducting scheduled maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs, helping to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of production tooling. |
Responsibilities | • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on injection molds per established PM programs. • Conduct visual inspections and functional tests to identify potential wear, damage, or contamination. • Clean mold components and apply protective coatings to prevent corrosion. • Document mold condition, performed maintenance, and any findings using maintenance tracking systems. • Identify and replace worn or damaged mold components such as O-rings, seals, and springs. • Work closely with Toolmakers and Process Technicians to ensure molds are ready for production. • Assist in updating and improving PM checklists and procedures to enhance efficiency. • Maintain a clean and organized tool room and work area. • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures related to mold maintenance. |

Education Requirements | • High School Diploma or equivalent required. • Technical certificate in mold maintenance, machining, or related field preferred. • Forklift certification is a plus. |

Experience Requirements | • 2 years in a mold/tool room maintenance role or similar in an injection molding environment. |
|
|
Skills Requirements | • Knowledge of injection mold components, including cooling systems, ejection systems, and alignment features. |
|
|
Core Competencies | • Ability to use precision measuring tools for basic inspection. • Experience with lubrication, cleaning, and preventive maintenance techniques. • Basic mechanical skills for disassembly/reassembly of mold components. • Familiarity with PM tracking systems or maintenance logs is a plus. • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods |

Physical Requirements | Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. |

Visual Acuity | The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as; preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and or operation or machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distance close to the eyes. |
