National Metalwares powered by UPG is looking to fill a Maintenance Mechanic position. There are opportunities for wage growth and career advancement. Any relevant steel experience is preferred, but not required. We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in this fast-paced environment. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Has acquired sufficient training and experience in one or more of the maintenance trades to perform the class of work ordinarily required of a journeyman in these trades
- Supervise the work of one or more subordinates
- Minimum of 3 years of technical training and 4 plus years of experience or equivalent
- Comply with all health, safety and quality procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Mechanical aptitude to include familiarity with basic hand tools
- Verbal and written communication in English
- Proficiency in nematic, hydraulic, and electrical energy
- Stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders on a frequent basis
- Use precision measuring instruments
- As needed, ability to perform repetitive bending, kneeling, and lift cumbersome and or heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)
- Certified forklift operator
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, shop and safety rules
