What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at UPG?
Metalex is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor in our Libertyville, IL facility. The Buyer will investigate, research, and select suppliers based on company requirements for cost, quality and delivery performance. Must have strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and oversee all maintenance, repair, and installation of machines and equipment in a stamping metal fabrication facility.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
- Inspect plant machinery and equipment regularly to identify and resolve issues
- Ensure that safety protocols and procedures are adhered to during maintenance operations
- Coordinate with other departments for shutdowns and startups
- Lead, supervise and train the maintenance team to ensure effective performance
- Manage the maintenance budget and ensure cost effectiveness
- Keep a record of all maintenance and repair work conducted
- Procure necessary equipment, tools, and supplies for maintenance work
- Stay updated with latest maintenance techniques and best practices
- Managing a team of skilled trades employees, general maintenance, millwright machine repair, as well as automation electricians.
- Plant liaison to contact and manage contract services, HVAC, building plus groundskeeping services, and various technical services for the plant equipment.
- Reviewing proposals for new equipment, tools, and facilities and planning for installation
- Maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a maintenance Supervisor or similar role in a metal stamping setting.
- Strong knowledge of Presses, along with engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System).
- BSc degree in Business Administration, Facility Management, Engineering, or relevant field.
