This is a full-time position, (with full benefits) with a company that is part of a multi-plant custom manufacturing operation with a commitment to quality and exceeding customer expectations.
SUMMARY: The Production Lead’s primary responsibility is to lead and manage a production shift in a high-volume, high-quality production setting, safely and in line with the required deadlines. Responsible for meeting the operational goals of the department’s Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Fosters a spirit of empowered work teams and unity among department members to effectively identify and implement opportunities for improvement. Answers questions, resolves issues and ensures effective delivery of product.
Shift Opportunities:
1st Shift hours: Monday – Friday with opportunities for overtime when available.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs and manages the work of multiple teams including press, pre-press, and finishing personnel with an attention to production volume, on-time fulfillment, and production accuracy.
- Responsible for quality control for all production runs - verifying initial set-ups, color control, matching first articles and overall production accuracy.
- Provides technical support or employs required resources to resolve production difficulties and/or restrictions.
- Responsible for managing cost and delivery for their assigned department.
- Responsible for managing shift personnel production, training, and efficiency.
- Responsible for Time and Labor including overtime planning and management and hourly timecard approvals.
- Manages employee performance including the annual performance review process, coaching, and corrective actions.
- Responsible for assessing team skills and directs team training efforts to ensure employees are adequately trained and progressing.
- Collaborates with and provides information to Customer Service and Operations leadership to address any concerns that may arise.
- Operates equipment on an as-needed basis.
- Maintains working knowledge of printing processes which may include making screens, mixing inks, setting up a press, making required adjustments to achieve overall quality products.
- Maintains understanding of print production finishing processes (die cutting, laminating, finish cutting, packaging).
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma required, GED.
- 2 years of operating in a high volume, Screen/Flexo/Digital printing production setting. Experience must align with department role.
- 1 year experience in a leadership role in a print or related environment
- Ability to solve routine production issues.
- Ability to operate and adjust mechanical equipment to maintain quality and productivity.
- Able to make good decisions when problems present themselves.

- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365. production process and ensure that production goals are met
- Coordinate with team members to assign tasks and ensure efficient workflow
- Fabricate and assemble products according to specifications
- Perform screen printing and quality control checks to maintain product standards
- Collaborate with graphic designers and layout designers to create visually appealing designs
- Operate and maintain various production equipment, such as presses and CNC machines
- Manage inventory of materials and supplies needed for production
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area

- Proven experience in a production lead or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of fabricating techniques and processes
- Proficiency in screen printing, including color management and typography
- Familiarity with graphic design principles and Adobe Creative Suite software
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform quality control checks
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet production deadlines
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments
