We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to join our team with the Kris Krohn entities. As the Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing the organization's financial activities and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Your role will be crucial in supporting the growth and success of Kris Krohn's real estate and wealth-building empire.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, legal requirements, and regulations.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Collaborate with the executive team to develop strategic financial plans. Provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations for business decision-making. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and develop accurate financial forecasts. Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing regular variance analysis reports.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis to management, board of directors, and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal control processes to safeguard company assets, ensure accuracy of financial records, and prevent fraud. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning, including monitoring cash balances, optimizing cash inflows and outflows, and managing working capital requirements. Make recommendations for improving cash flow efficiency.
- Tax Compliance: Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax. Manage tax reporting and filing activities.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting department.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Identify and implement automation opportunities where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Controller, Director of Accounting, or similar role, preferably in a publicly traded company.
- Experience in Real Estate preferred
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
