Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. This role is vital in providing support to individuals facing mental health challenges. Duties
- Provide direct patient care and support, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in a mental health setting.
- Assist with case management tasks, including documenting patient progress and participating in treatment planning.
- Engage patients through various therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, art therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Facilitate group activities and counseling sessions focused on addiction counseling and child family counseling.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, behaviors, and progress using appropriate medical terminology.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Support patients in daily living activities while promoting independence and self-management skills.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills related to special education and mental health care.
Qualifications
- A background in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience or training in case management, child family counseling, addiction counseling, or similar areas is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques and cognitive behavioral therapy practices is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to document patient care accurately using medical terminology.
- Previous experience in patient care or mental health settings is beneficial.
- A genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to providing high-quality mental health support.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative in individual responsibilities.
