Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team in providing high-quality care to patients in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges, assisting them in their recovery journey through direct support and therapeutic interventions. This position requires a strong understanding of behavioral therapy, patient assessment, and case management.
Duties
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients, ensuring adherence to prescribed therapeutic activities.
- Conduct patient assessments to monitor progress and identify any changes in behavior or condition.
- Provide direct support to patients during group therapy sessions and individual counseling, including grief counseling and Christian counseling when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient interactions, behaviors, and treatment progress.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care strategies that address the needs of each patient.
- Engage patients in therapeutic activities that promote emotional well-being and coping skills.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all patients by adhering to hospital protocols and procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a mental health setting, particularly inpatient care, is preferred.
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques and case management practices is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others through their mental health challenges.
- Knowledge of medical records management and confidentiality standards related to patient information.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively while providing direct support to patients.
