Primary Purpose:
The Coordinator of Multilingual Intervention ensures that English Learners receive an excellent education, one that harnesses the assets of their bilingualism and is aligned with Uplift’s IB vision for excellence. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the English Learner Tier II/III instructional initiatives in schools and partnering with campus leadership to develop instructional staff. This will specifically include but is not limited to: providing professional development opportunities, analyzing intervention data, and recommending instructional decisions. To this end, the Coordinator will collaborate with the compliance and tier I English Learner coordinators, campus leadership team, network staff, and outside personnel to formulate, develop and evaluate intervention plans for English Learners.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage Bilingual/ESL Programs
Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Work Environment:
Office out of a school site, though role requires frequent visits to select campuses across the DFW metroplex. Employee must have reliable transportation and a valid Texas driver’s license.
Starting Salary: $70,000

Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage Bilingual/ESL Programs
- Drives the academic vision for Tier II/III instruction for all Emergent Bilinguals
- Provides structure to campus staff/administration for individualized and small group instruction (push-in classroom support and/or pull-out) to meet the needs of the Emergent Bilingual
- Assess, analyze, and respond to the needs of EB students by directing staff to the appropriate materials and how to implement appropriate programs.
- Provide 1:1 or small group coaching, development, and support for Multilingual staff and leaders in alignment with the Tier II/III goals.
- Design documents and toolkits for Multilingual staff, leaders, and other stakeholders outlining the vision and supports provided for Multilingual Tier II/III Instruction.
- Ensure implementation of network curricular adoptions; partner with school leaders on best practices for coaching and support of staff leading Tier II/III instruction
- Ensure that instructional programming and curriculum services exist in the Bilingual/ESL programs to meet students’ needs as stated in Texas Education Code
- Monitor and present scholar outcome data to relevant stakeholders, including CELI, academic director and Multilingual leadership at least quarterly; evaluate and suggest instructional moves to better meet scholar needs
- Monitor research and data for tier II/III; suggest and support development of innovative program initiatives to improve the content, sequence, and outcomes of the teaching/learning process
- Collaborate with campus based Multilingual Coordinators to ensure a streamlined EL program
- Manage SummerRISE Language Development planning and execution each summer
- Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy; keep abreast of current and impending legislation and recommend instructional changes as needed
- Knowledge and implementation of Chapter 89 and Title III requirements- including support of Title III events
- Support the Multilingual Compliance Coordinator with identification procedures for all English Learners, as needed
- Serve as an LPAC representative in special education ARD committee meetings, as needed
- Work with MLP team leadership to document all requests for projects and programs requiring Bilingual/ESL and Title III.
- Make recommendations to academic director and operations director on additional resources to support Emergent Bilinguals
- This position will report to and be managed centrally by the Manger of Multilingual Programming
- They will need to be able to work closely with various campus administrations to assess and support specific campus needs.
- Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./ B.S.) from an accredited college or university required. Master’s degree in related field is preferred but not required.
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum three years of successful teaching experience required. Minimum two years of adult leadership preferred. Must enjoy working with English learners and their families.
- Special Skills/Certifications:
- Must have a valid Texas Teacher Certification with endorsement in Bilingual and/or ESL education.
- Communication Skills: Mastery of both oral and written English with the ability to write general correspondence. Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual Skills: Preferred
- Technology: Ability and/or willingness to learn new technology systems that are imperative to the ELP team.
