UPMC Your Care is hiring a Full-time Paramedic to work various shifts
The Advanced Care paramedic is a vital member of the UPMC Your Care program for Medicare members, providing urgent and episodic care to members in their homes or other locations. The paramedic works under the supervision of a physician and a nurse clinical care coordinator and collaborates with other health care professionals of the UPMC Your Care interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, member-centered, and cost-effective care.

- Serves as a role model for professional paramedic practice. Demonstrates a passion for developing others. Identifies opportunities for clinical quality as well as workplace improvement. Builds and mends relationships among colleagues within the framework of a healthy workplace. CLINICAL Performs thorough hands-on member assessments and history-taking and clinical exams, utilizing diagnostic equipment including ECG, point-of-care laboratory testing, and other advanced adjuncts to investigate symptoms and complaints. Assesses member for geriatric syndromes such as falls, functional decline, sleep disorders, delirium, dementia, bladder / bowel problems, polypharmacy, and weight loss. Understand care for the older adult and palliative care interventions.
- Responds to all requests safely and efficiently, adhering to system standards, policies and procedures, and other established practices.? Participates in projects and initiatives to continue the advancement of this growing team. Presents or contributes to complex case reviews by the interdisciplinary team, summarizing clinical and social history, current medications, geriatric syndromes, healthcare resource utilization, and case management interventions. Maintains operational readiness by completing required equipment and medication checks and logs on an established schedule.
- Safely operates a company vehicle, avoiding distractions while driving. Supports safe vehicle operation by coworkers, providing navigation and communication support during response.
