UPMC Somerset is seeking a Diagnostic Technologist to join their team of life-changers! This position will work Fridays and Saturdays 7pm-7am and 2 daylight shifts Tuesdays-Thursdays. As a Diagnostic Technologist, you'll perform imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
\nUPMC is excited to offer a generous sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 dependent on your experience and eligibility. This sign-on bonus will require a 2-year commitment.
Responsibilities:

- Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for procedures. \n
- Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols. \n
- Document patient history in electronic records as needed. \n
- Administer PO and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy. \n
- Ensure exams are coded, tracked, networked to ISITE, and charges entered. \n
- Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols. \n
- Use complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, and documentation. \n
- Interact with patients and co-workers with care, respect, and teamwork. \n
- Perform technical procedures with independent judgment and appropriate radiation use. \n
- Communicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to ease their fears. \n

- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.\n
- \n
- Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified. \n

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

- ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date. \n
- ARRT Certificate \n
- ARRT Radiography \n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) \n
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire \n
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal \n
- Act 33 with renewal \n
- Act 34 with renewal \n
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal \n
