- Position : Medical Assistant / Patient Service Coordinator with the Hillman Cancer Center in Moon Township, PA
- Schedule : Monday through Friday, daylight hours 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm
- No evenings, weekends, or holidays are required!

This role will be responsible for assisting physicians with various aspects of patient care (including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks) ensuring patient satisfaction. Daily tasks will include taking vital signs, registering patients, scheduling testing, exams, and treatments, as well as stocking supplies, and cleaning exam rooms.

Responsibilities : n \n
Completes vital signs, specimen testing and EKGs as needed.Organizes daily schedule of patients, greet patients and assigns rooms.Orders supplies for unit as necessary.Maintains competency requirements.Coordinates the ordering of blood products in collaboration with RNs, Blood Bank and Laboratory.Greets each person entering the clinic, identifies self and role. Explains processes and procedures to new patients and assists with paperwork.Participate in interdisciplinary activities such as staff meetings and other committees as assigned.Other Duties as Assigned.Maintain high visibility. Stationed in a prominent area in the clinic that is readily identifiable and accessible to customer.Anticipates and responds to meet customer needs.Respond appropriately to crisis situation as a team member.Participates in interdisciplinary activities such as staff meetings and other committees as assigned.Assists in the registration of patients to include verification and confirmation of health insurance coverage.Immediately report any situation that may impact safety of patients, visitors and staff.Provides front desk coverage as assigned.Continuously monitors the environment and facilitates correction of any detraction from the appearance, comfort and safety of the clinic.Account for all customers in the clinic.Provides lobby / waiting room coordination and supervision.Serve as liaison between customers and clinic staff.Collects 100% of copays daily and correctly balances at the end of each day.Coordinates scheduling to include testing.Coordinates and manages the bone marrow biopsy schedule for multiple practitioners and bone marrow technicians.UPMC has a robust career ladder for Medical Assistants and Patient Service Coordinators. Medical Assistant : n \n
High school diploma or equivalent is required.Patient care experience preferred.n \n
Salaries range from $17.64 - $19.51 - $26.53 hourly
Medical Assistant, Senior :

High school diploma or equivalent is required.Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent hospital program (LPN / RN / EMT)n \n
OR successful completion of certification examination (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, or NHA)OR at least 1 year of patient care experience.n \n
Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in three practice category-specific tasks as determined by the manager.Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.n \n
Salaries range from $17.84 - $20.25 - $26.62 hourly
Medical Assistant, Expert :

Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent hospital program (LPN / RN / EMT)n \n
OR successful completion of certification examination (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, or NHA) and 1 year of patient care experienceOR at least 2 years of patient care experience.n \n
Must successfully complete the UPMC Preceptor training and serve as a preceptor and mentor to newly hired team members.Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in all practice category-specific tasks as determined by the manager.n \n
Salaries range from $18.04 - $20.98 - $26.71 hourly
Patient Service Coordinator :

High School graduate or equivalent required.Minimum of three years of direct patient care and or phlebotomy experience.Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals from multi-disciplinary groups.Possesses excellent organizational skills.n \n
Salaries range from $18.04 - $20.98 - $26.71 hourly
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances :

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)Act 34n \n
