Job Description : We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at UPMC St. Margaret. This position requires a flexible schedule, including one evening a week (4pm-8pm), every third weekend, and 2 holidays per year. The ideal candidate will be in good standing in an accredited School of Pharmacy, entering P1 year or above, and have applied for an intern license. Apply today!\n Responsibilities : \n\nAssist pharmacist with medication distribution, delivery, refilling automated dispensing cabinets, and exchanging emergency medication carts.\nFill medication orders, maintain patient profiles, and perform prepackaging.\nPrepare IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and controlled substance orders.\nAssist with medication review, including computer order entry, monitoring allergies, enforcing formulary decisions, and evaluating drug interactions.\nComplete departmental documentation and billing by the end of each shift (e.g., dispensing records, refrigerator logs, chemotherapy compounding records, billing, controlled substance delivery records).\nComplete clinical workload documentation as required.\nUse information systems, robotics, and other applications to prepare medication labels and assist with dispensing.\nDemonstrate a service orientation and convey a positive, professional image.\nPrepare drug information responses and medication use evaluations.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and adequately stocked work environment.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\n Note : This job description outlines the general nature and level of work.
