Job Description : Position : Full-Time Surgical TechnologistLocation : UPMC Hamot - Cardiac Cath Lab\n Job Description : We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team at UPMC Hamot. In this role, you will assist the surgical team in performing a variety of tasks in the operating room, ensuring sterile environments and supporting the surgeon and surgical assistants during procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience with cardiac procedures and be able to maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail.\nWe are currently offering SIGN-ON BONUSES for all full-time Surgical Technologist positions! The amount of the sign-on bonus is dependent upon your years of Surgical Technology experience.\n 0-1 years of experience : 2-year commitment $10,000; 3-year commitment $12,0001-2 years of experience : 2-year commitment $12,000; 3-year commitment $17,0002 years of experience : 2-year commitment $15,000; 3-year commitment $25,000\n Key Responsibilities : \n\n\n Pre-Operative Duties : \n\nPrepare the operating room by setting up sterile surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile solutions.\nAssemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment, ensuring all necessary instruments are available and functional.\nEnsure patient safety by performing necessary preoperative tasks such as preparing the patient (washing, shaving, ensuring aseptic incision sites), transporting the patient to the operating room, and positioning them on the operating table.\n\n\n\n Intra-Operative Support : \n\nPass surgical instruments, sponges, sutures, and other sterile supplies to the surgeon and surgical assistants in an efficient and timely manner.\nAssist with retraction, cutting sutures, sponging, or suctioning the operative site under the supervision of the surgeon.\nCount sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments to ensure none are left behind.\nAssist with handling special trays, graft materials, and recording patient data during surgery.\n\n\n\n Post-Operative Duties : \n\nHelp with the transfer of patients to the recovery room.\nClean and restock the operating room in preparation for the next procedure.\nDispose of specimens appropriately and assist with the preparation and application of dressings.\nEnsure the operating room is ready for the next case, maintaining a sterile environment at all times.\n\n\n\n Team Collaboration : \n\nAssist the surgical team in donning sterile gowns and gloves.\nSupport the surgical team in maintaining a safe, clean, and sterile environment throughout the procedure.\nDemonstrate alertness to safety, explosive hazards, and aseptic technique to prevent infection and maintain patient safety.\n\n\n\n We Offer : \n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package.\nOpportunities for career advancement and continuing education.\nA supportive, collaborative work environment focused on patient care excellence.\n\n If you are passionate about surgical technology and want to make a meaningful difference in patient care, we encourage you to apply!\nIf you have any questions about the position or would like to discuss the role in more detail, please don't hesitate to reach out.
