Responsibilities : – Perform surgical procedures on patients with cardiac diseases, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair or replacement, congenital heart defect corrections, and other complex procedures. – Evaluate patient conditions, order diagnostic tests, review medical histories, and consult with other specialists to determine the most appropriate treatment plans. – Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care and outcomes. – Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac surgery techniques and apply them in the clinical setting. – Participate in research activities and contribute to the development of new treatment options. – Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, potential risks, and post–operative care. Qualifications : – Medical degree from an accredited institution. – Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery. – Valid state medical license or eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania. – Minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiac surgery. – Proficient in a wide range of cardiac surgical procedures. – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. – Experience working in multidisciplinary teams. – Commitment to providing high–quality patient care. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances : – Current licensure as a Cardiac Surgeon in Pennsylvania or eligibility for licensure. – Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery. – ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification. – BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification. – PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (if applicable). – Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal. – Act 33 with renewal. – Act 34 with renewal. – Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
