Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans to maximize functional ability and improve quality of life for patients.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders.
- Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to teach patients new skills and techniques to enhance communication and swallow function.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and services provided.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Adhere to regulatory standards and organizational policies to ensure compliance.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of services provided.
- Perform duties in a manner that promotes optimal patient satisfaction and well-being.
- Maintain professional licensure and certifications as required.
Educational Requirements: Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology is required. Experience: One year of clinical experience in Speech Pathology is preferred. Licensure/Certifications: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-language pathology, Basic Life Support (BLS), or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Act 33, Act 34, OAPSA are required. The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually, based on experience and location. UPMC - University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is an equal opportunity employer.
