UPMC Sports Medicine is one of the nation’s largest employers of athletic trainers with approximately 200 staff members. We have several exciting opportunities working in the outreach setting. More than 90 pro, college, and high school organizations in Western and Central Pennsylvania turn to us for athletic training services.
This position is for Canton High School.

External/qualified candidates will receive $10,000 with a 2-year commitment to UPMC for full-time and floater positions!
UPMC Sports medicine also provides mileage reimbursement for normal and above normal commute, as well as assistance with NATA dues and BOC maintenance fees!
As a staff member in our program, you will be part of a team led by world-renowned sports medicine experts that work in state-of-the-art facilities. We have comprehensive physician, imaging, physical therapy, concussion, nutrition, and sports performance services that serve as resources to you.
Candidates will be placed into the appropriate level based on experience:
- Athletic Trainer I and Athletic Trainer II
Responsibilities:
- Provide athletic training services according to various professional and state regulations, as well as UPMC policies.
- Conduct evaluations, create care plans, and choose appropriate treatments and rehabilitation methods.
- Maintain and submit necessary documentation for incidents.
- Build relationships with UPMC services and professionals.
- Engage in professional development in sports medicine.
- Deliver athletic training services within contractual and protocol guidelines.
- Participate in UPMC-sponsored special events and community education programs.
