UPMC Somerset is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician to join their team of life-changers! This is a full-time position that will work 8-hour day shifts with varying start times between 5:30am-8:30am. This position will also rotate weekend/holiday call requirements.
Candidates of all levels of experience are invited to apply! Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based on their individual experience and education. The entry rate for an inexperienced technician is $17.84. Candidates with 2 years of experience could start earning $18.04/hr.
The Central Sterile Processing Technician performs those duties necessary for the proper decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, distribution and documentation of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment according to established procedures. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and set up supplies for standard surgical procedures, maintaining inventory and equipment.
- Clean and decontaminate reusable equipment, instruments, and supplies both manually and mechanically.
- Communicate effectively using good interpersonal skills.
- Adhere to department policies on decontamination, sterile processing, infection control, and safety.
