What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Educator (Casual) - Addiction Medicine Services position at UPMC?
Purpose:
Plan, coordinate, supervise and implement the activities related to Allegheny County Alcohol, Tobacco and Other drug (ATOD) and violence and gambling prevention and education. Identify needs for educational programs for teachers, addiction and mental health professionals and student assistance teams. Utilize evidenced-based prevention and training curricula as determined by the Addiction Medicine Services, Program Manager in conjunction with Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Drug and Alcohol Programs and Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP).
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Addiction Medicine, WPIC leadership in carrying out the duties and mandates related to a broad range of prevention activities.
- Participate in and coordinate addiction related coalitions and conferences for the region and the state.
- Coordinate and implement special requests from contractors and regulatory entities as they pertain to ATOD prevention services.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement addiction-related education and prevention programs as determined by community needs, school system requirements and directives from local, regional and state regulatory bodies.
- Provide training and consultation to Allegheny County School Districts and other provider agencies in the implementation of the PA Department of Education Student Assistance Program.
- Provide evidence-based prevention programs throughout Allegheny County for professional, business, faith and community organizations in diverse geographic neighborhood with varying age groups and populations.
