The COTA provides treatment under the direction of an occupational therapist as prescribed by the referring physician and supervising occupational therapist. Recommends changes in treatment plan to the supervising occupational therapist based upon patient condition and response to treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in staff meetings, development programs, and committees.
- Assist occupational therapists with patient surveys across all age groups.
- Maintain thorough documentation for all clinical services, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Implement treatment plans effectively to achieve set goals.
- Administer and record standardized tests as requested by occupational therapists.
- Provide comprehensive therapeutic interventions based on established treatment programs.
- Rotate through treatment areas or facilities as needed.
- Supervise clinical support staff appropriately.
- Complete charge/statistical information accurately to reflect services rendered.
- Schedule to maintain productivity levels that meet or exceed facility standards.
- Adjust treatment programs based on patient response and notify therapists of necessary changes.
- Provide and request feedback on department performance and emergency situations.
Salary : $21 - $31
