In this role, there is the opportunity to:
- Read and comply with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Collect specimens promptly and accurately following established procedures.
- Ensure positive patient ID policy is followed for accurate specimen labeling.
- Communicate effectively with clients, patients, and coworkers, remaining professional and courteous.
- Confirm handwritten orders and obtains necessary billing and diagnostic information from clients.
- Participate in team activities and special projects, contributing to departmental goals.
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, data entry, and preparing mail.
- Delegate phlebotomy priorities and non-urgent tasks to staff as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including waste disposal and supply stocking.
- Train and mentor new employees, ensuring adherence to procedures and safety regulations.
