UPMC Revenue Cycle is hiring a Manager to support Patient Arrival staff at UPMC Shadyside. The position will typically work varying days at the hospital, assisting with weekend and holiday coverage to help maintain staffing levels. We are looking for someone flexible and willing to support staff during all shifts (day, evening and night) required for working in the Emergency Department. In addition to UPMC Shadyside, this role will collaborate closely with the management staff of UPMC Presbyterian and work to cover both campuses.
Under the guidance of leadership, the Manager provides for the utilization of resources to deliver quality intake services to our customers and to contribute to the achievement of the organization's financial objectives. The Manager is primarily responsible for the direct oversight of the day to day operations of the Patient Access Department, supporting the registration activities of patients, financial counseling, scheduling and all revenue functions. Need to demonstrate through plans and actions that there is a consistent standard of excellence to which all work is to conform. The Manager will ensure a positive customer service atmosphere in all interactions. The Manager shall demonstrate the philosophy and core values of UPMC in the performance of duties.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Oversee the 24/7, including weekends and holidays, operations of the on-site Arrival staff which includes on-call coverage, working vacant shifts, call offs and absences.
- Carry out special assignments or projects as assigned.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with subordinates and superiors regarding the status of the business operation.
- Complete or manage the completion of necessary human resource documentation, adhering to human resources expectations for associates, including compliance, related responsibilities, continuing education requirements, recognition of staff/team accomplishments etc.
- Conduct new associate meet & greets and interviews, working with Talent Acquisition to finalize the hiring process.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Manager and utilize other resources regarding personal issues and/or situations that have real or potential impact on the department and/or institution.
- Ensure that policies, procedures, job descriptions, reports and other documentation are properly followed.
- Maintain work standards, KPI's and productivity for activities under the manager's control.
- Manage ongoing training programs for staff development.
- Participate on committees as assigned.
- Perform duties and job responsibilities in a manner that promotes the core values of UPMC (Quality and Safety; Dignity and Respect; Caring and Listening; Excellence and Innovation; Responsibility and Integrity) in consumers and UPMC interactions.
- Responsible for budget reconciliation.
